Spending half your childhood in your grandparents' home can certainly give you a predilection for retro things. The obnoxious floral couch, the Tupperware, and Corelle flower print plates. Even after moving around the country as a Navy kid, I couldn't get those warm feelings for floral and kitsch out of my soul.

I have always been a maker. There are probably less crafts I haven’t dabbled in than those I have. From learning to crochet via youtube in 2002 (when there was no playback speed adjustment!) to many years of knitting and dyeing my own yarn, fiber has always held a big place in my heart.

As 2020 hit us all out of nowhere, I started sewing again. I was always been equally fascinated and angered by sewing machines. I routinely got halfway into a garment and threw my hands up. A stay at home order and our rock climbing gym temporarily closing due to covid helped to set me straight with my machine. I dusted it off and vowed to make it work. I made masks for gym members then later started selling them. I started drafting patterns for myself…then realized it would be cool to create a legacy book of the patterns I wrote and made. After putting some of those together I decided to share them here. It is so rewarding to see other people create amazing works of art from a little of your instruction.

Home Studio

Inspired by Life

Creating from experiences, I find myself looking to the world around me for inspiration. Working from home comes with it advantages as well as it’s drawbacks. My home studio is my sanctuary. No matter the weather, sun shine or rain, this is my happy place.
